The monsters under the bed thread got me thinking of things we did as kids.
Like:
Jumping from one piece of furniture to the next, or from bed to bed because if we touched the floor we would burn in the Lava.
Red Light, Green Light, 1, 2, 3
Manhunt
What imagination games do you remember playing as a kid without (or before) video games/technology?

Roller coaster/ride game. My cousins, little brother, and myself would hop on a pull wagon and pretend we were on a roller coaster or dark ride after going to Universal Studios/Disneyland. We would recreate the ride as best we could and take turns pulling eachother through the path we made.0

LOL...I almost broke a girl's arm in elementary who tried to let go one time...
As the first kid in my class to mature physically, these games were FUN...as was target practice, I mean dodge ball.0 -

If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!!
I loved dodge ball! I was always small and fast!0 -
My best friend and I were detectives in a secret organization called CHAOS. I don't remember what CHAOS stood for.
One of our mission objectives was to tie our youngest brothers to the bottom of the treehouse, then throw sticks at them from underneath.
CHAOS was not really a benevolent organization.0 -

I almost choked on my water just now!0 -
Hot Lava...for sure. We generally played this on playground equipment during recess. Sometimes we'd change it up, and instead of lava, there was a maneating alligator in the "water", or zombies.
Loved it...I miss those days.0 -

We played on playgroud equipment too. And if you got stuck - you could yell "ICE" and jump 3x to the next piece of equipment. If you didn't you died. LOL0 -

Aladdins carpet helped me out a few times too (Yes, I cheated!)0 -
the floor is lava
catch/crunch the falling leaves before they touch me. positive points for me getting them, negative for them getting me. Actually I still do this when I think nobody is watching. another reason to love fall.
secret agent/soldiers with my brothers. and chefs with leaves, twigs, mud pies, etc
as for Red rover, I got momentarily knocked out playing that game. as I was running over, I got clothelined, and down and i went and bounced my head off the ground.0 -
Kerby with a ball.0

Middle brother drinks Squeez-It. Pees in the Squeez-It bottle. Younger brother must be convinced to drink it. Helps to mention that it's microwaved and that's why it's warm. THIS GAME CAN ONLY BE PLAYED ONCE.
Our GI Joe's favorite vehicle was a bottle rocket
Empty out many boxes of disassembled paper rock poppers into one giant receptacle, then throw it off the roof
I'm not sure if you count "explosions" as a game but there sure were a lot of explosions0 -
Wait....I still play most of these games... =P
Especially cops & robbers...0 -
Manhunt0

We played Tarzan , cowboys and indians, hunters..and we were always outside, even when it rained.0
-
STAR WARS!! We used to run missions in the playground during recess at school... I was always Leia since I was the only girl in our group... That was awesome.0
-
We used to throw the para-trooper soldiers off the roof of a cousin's apartment building and see if we could get down the six flights of steps before it reached the ground. Someone usually had to be downstairs to be the judge.0

Me & my friends used to play our version of double dare (nick's tv show). we would make obstacles & all that.
We also had our own retail store infront of my house... We would grab junk from my house
& set a table up in front of the house & sell whatever we can LOL.. but no one bought anything
We also played church (catholic) where one of us was the priest & the others were mass attenders..
& gave candy as "the body" & drank grape juice as the "blood"...
we got punished after from my grandparents. Looking back.. that was a bad idea. haha
Ahh.. I miss being a kid.0 -
We played a game called Mother May I.... though i doubt i could remember how to play it anymore0

Cat's cradle
Chinese jump rope0 -
When I was a kid we had this wooden furniture with pretty sharp edges. My brother, sister and I (one of us at a time) would lay in the middle of the living room with our arms and legs spread out and try to trip the other two while they ran in a circle around us.
We also play a game where you jump from piece of furniture to piece of furniture-like the ground was the ocean and we couldn't "fall in".
Looking back, these don't seem like such good ideas and I'm really surprised no one ended up in the hospital.0 -
We lived in a new subdivision that was surrounded by corn fields on 3 sides (raised in Iowa) & we used to make trails through the corn & ride our bikes on the "track" to see who could do it the fastest (of course there was always a ramp leading up into the corn to start off the course). I'm certain the farmers were less than pleased with the precision of the "tracks" we created! LOL0
-
we always played a game where i would invariably end up tied to a tree....whether it was cops and robbers, cowboys and indians, even transformers...i always ended up TIED to the TREE....
we'd use the fence as a net and play volleyball between our two back yards...
my BFF was a boy named Aaron...we'd play hide and go seek with the little kids and once they were hiding we would take off and lock ourselves in a room in the basement and kiss and stuff...
we would play barbies...that always evolved into playing real life barbies where I was barbie and Aaron was Ken and I had to do WHATEVER he said....(usually involved raiding the kitchen for his supper...he WAS a hungry businessman you know...oh and kissing...)
remind me again why I'm trying to figure out why i turned out the way I did??0 -
You just reminded me of "7 Minutes in Heaven"
We were a bit older though..lol
AND spin the bottle!
