Hello everyone
I am new to this site, but not new to the whole weight loss, self esteem and eating issues.
A little about myself. I am a 22 year old female, 5'6" and 135 pounds right now. Back in high school I was over weight and lost a considerable amount of weight from not eating. I was the skinniest I had ever been at 110 pounds. I look back at it now and realize that I was unattractive and too skinny!
As the years went on I gained weight back and started looking a lot more healthy but I constantly struggle with the scale, self esteem and the way I look at myself. I eat because I am stressed and unhappy and it drives me crazy.
The last two years i was around 130, but at the beginning of this summer I was put onto anti depressants. I no longer was stressed and worrying about weight and food and i dropped down to 125. I go to the gym regularly and really noticed a difference in my abs and legs and loved it!
I know weigh 135 and it is tearing me up inside, I am a healthey eater but I cant stop eating! its driving me crazy.
I go to the gym anywhere from 4-6 days a week with weight training and cardio. But i am getting so discourged with my weight gain.
The last few weekends I have binged a little but, nothing crazy but from last Monday (a week ago) I have gone from 127 up to 136!!
Why is this happening to me, why cant i control myself!
I am finding the depression to come back after I was finaly happy and know I just dont knwo what to do, how can i put on weight that fast?
Any advice or encouragment would be greatly appreciated! I am at my wits end here, and I am not sure where else to turn.
Thanks guys and I look forward to speaking with some of you

Talk to your doctor. Weight gain may be a side effect from the medication and there maybe be alternatives.
I know it doesn't really help for me to say it, but 135 is still pretty slim for 5'6" in my opinion, so you have nothing to worry about!0 -
i know how you feel, what im finding works for me is to track everything on here even if its bad.seeing whats in it and knowing eatting that is using almost all my cals for the day helps me to make a better choice the next day.also remember that tomorrow is a new day set goal for the next day plan what your going to eat for the next day and allow your self one day to eat whatever you want or to have lets say a coffee from starbucks or something you reallly enjoy.
add me if you want, have a great day and look at the things you did do instead of what you didnt do.:flowerforyou:0 -

^^^ I have to agree with mavd - 135 is a very healthy weight at your height, especially if you're fit and working out. You need to talk to your doctor regarding your meds, your reoccurrence of depression and your eating habits.0 -
I did speak with my doctor on the medication, but that is not a side effect. Weight loss was one because it is a stimulant.
Thanks for the compliment on the weight, I know deep down its fine but at the same time when i look at myself i dont see it. I want to get past this so badly!!0 -
No offense but that's a whole lot of anxiety for a 135lb woman!!! Just a few suggestions -
*Are you logging all your food - if not start. Nothing like seeing those negative red numbers to kick your butt back in gear.
*Ditch the scale and take measurements. The scale is obviously causing you a lot of anxiety.
*Remember - it's 80% diet 20% exercise - so while working out is awesome avoid getting into that pattern of eating too much than having to workout like a maniac to burn all the excess calories (been there done that). Get your caloric intake under control.
*Browse the success stories on the forums. There are people out there facing way more adversity than you. People needing to lose 100+ pounds for health reasons. Embrace and appreciate your 135lb body.

Could that extra weight be muscle?
When I first joined the crew team in college I weighed 130-135 (I'm 5'8"), and after about 6 months of intense workouts my weight went up to 150-155lbs, but I was in the best shape of my life and really strong... it was just all muscle weight.0 -

Great advice. Especially the part about logging. Very important to know exactly where you stand. Use this site to be accountable to yourself.0
