NSV - Out lifted!

I have been doing quite a bit of strength training lately and have been feeling proud of how much I can lift, even though I haven't seen a single change to my body.
Today I went to the gym with my mom, who has done P90x and is a marathon runner. Somehow, I out lifted her on every single strength training exercise we did by a good 15-20 pounds. I am in shock and I know that really it doesn't mean much since every one's body is so different but it still feels good!

There are few things more gratifying than getting under the iron and crushing someone who you thought for sure was stronger than you. It does mean something. Don't fool yourself. While yes, everyone's body is different, it doesn't diminish the fact that you are now stronger than someone who used to be stronger than you. This is progress, and competition is fueled by it. In the ideal scenario, your mom will think "Oh hell no" and push herself to overtake you, then you do the same thing, and in the end, you both end up being the best you can.0
