Ab strain... Help

I was doing planks and pushups in my Kickboxing class and felt a sharp pulling in my lower abs. Crunches not so bad just the pushups were killer. Anyone ran into this problem? How did you treat it? How long did take to heal? Thanks!

    I haven't ever done this, but if you really did pull the muscle, use ice on it and try to avoid the motion until you are pain-free or much improved. Once it is less painful you could do some gentle stretching.

    Thanks for the advice! I'm not liking the idea of waiting it out but better small pull than large injury!:ohwell:
