So i did the whole diet thing, and lot a ton of weight! The sad thing is that i look the same only smaller.....its time to start building muscle(: the only problem is that i have no idea where to start. I'm currently 108 pounds 5'4, and eating 1000 calories a day. My only workout plan has been some fun soccer 2-5 days a week, and weight training/tons of food scrares the crap outa me!

Start off with all of the compound lifts in each session. You don't need to worry about isolation stuff until later, if at all.

Squats, deadlifts, overhead press, bench press are your friends at the start.

First, you'll need to test each lift to see how heavy you can go at the beginning. Start with an empty bar, and add weight until it's reasonably difficult for you to move the weight. On compounds, 5-10 reps would be a fine range. I'd recommend going on the higher side of that at first so your body can get used to the movements.

In my opinion you're underweight and not eating enough. To build some muscle you'll need to increase your calorie intake, paying special attention to protein. From what I've read you could lift a ton of weight but you won't get the benefit of it toning your body if you don't eat properly. I love doing weights so give it a try and don't let it scare you. It may take a month or two to see some results but it's gratifying to see your body change. At the very least I would recommend a protein shake before and/or after lifting. Best of luck.

No. I agree that you should start with compound exercises Squats, deadlifts, overhead press, bench press - these are what I do and it does the whole body. Arm workout will work on your arms but compound exercises work everything.
