App search help

So I customized my meals in the my fitness pal setting to include two snacks during the day.. and now my ipad cant search for new food, when i type it in, it only searches through a list of foods I have used in the past, not new ones.. any ideas how to get it back? The wifi is working so its not that but its making me crazy!
