Working out calories in homemade tea

I feel like I've got a cold coming on, so I'm going to whip myself up a batch of cold-busting tea tonight. The only thing is, I'm not sure how to work out the calories in it. The ingredients will be as follows:

- 50g fresh ginger root
- 2 whole lemons - juice, rind and flesh
- 3tbsp honey
- 2tsp ground black pepper
- 5 cups of water

That amounts to a total of 267 calories (about 53 calories per cup), but since this will be a tea and the solid parts of the lemon and ginger won't be used, will that calorie count be accurate, or will the difference be negligible? Will juicing the ginger and lemon beforehand - and therefore only using the juice - affect the number of calories?

Thank you. :)

Your 53 cal per cup is an upper estimate for sure. Realistically most of the calories will come from he honey so maybe recalculate with just that?

I would use those numbers. It's not enough calories to really worry about and it's safer to overestimate.
