The Roomate Files-The semi good, the bad the ugly.
Thought this would be a fun thread for everyone to read but I want roomate stories. the worst roomates ever, post them here. Since I have you here, here is mine:
I had a best friend since high school. bout eight yrs ago. well me and my fiance decided to move with her and her husband. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but let me tell ya, BAD IDEA. First her husband wanted to sit on the couch and sneak off outside smoking that fake pot, then she would come to me complaining and it was really obvious what he was doing. She got mad at everything my fiance did and wanted me to dump him because she did not like him. He is a good guy and yes in the situation he was not right and did apoligize and make things right but no it was never good enough for her. He treated me like gold and still does for about a year now. She let me borrow some DVD's and you know the cover that the DVDs go in, the cardboard box. Well lets just say I was careless and left them on the floor and my dog chewed the covers. So what did i do, i told my fiance, we said we would replace everything and then went outside to tell her what had happened and even told her we would replace them. Now keep in mind the place cover nor the DVDs had any scratches or chew marks on them. So my fiance in on the computer in the room next to ours while i continued to watch the DVDs while her husband comes cussing me out over them after he was told we would replace them. So what does my fiance do? what any good man would do and gets all over his *kitten* for what he said to me. So guess who was the bad guy, My fiance. So more stuff was happening through all this time and we decided to part ways.
When they left, not even a week later and stuck us with the rent, they wanted their half of the deposit back , which was never given to me but to the landlord and somehow she wanted me to pull 300 out of my *kitten*. So anyways they left we went to help my sister move and when i got back after 4 days, the house was a DISASTER!!! I never met so many nasty ppl in my life. First they used all of our dishes and left them in the sink dirty. The refridorater was gross, they had spilled items all over with lettuce that was wilted away. it stunk so bad but that was not even the icing on the cake. There toilet broke, the seal went out and they left **** IN THE TOILET FOR 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we bleached everything and fixed the toliet which her husband was too lazy to do.
So the moral of this story is, NEVER GET ROOMATES!!! It doesn't matter how long you know the individual, everyones living habits are different. Me and my fiance are clean ppl and they were DISCUSTING!!!!
Hope you enjoyed please feel free to leave your story on this thread. Enjoy!

Yeah, best friends should almost never become roommates, I think. It ruins the friendship too often.
I recently had a roommate in college who was CRAZY. She kept it extremely hot in our dorm room, then would open the window beside her bed, letting in cold air, which made no sense. So when she left, I would turn the heat down. No big deal, right? It's not like she was in the room.
Apparently, it was a very big deal. She put a sign beside the thermostat saying "Do not touch" -- even though we were supposed to share the room equal. I thought "That's ok...Kind of rude, but we'll just have a conversation about it and we can work something out."
Yeah, that didn't happen. As soon as I brought it up, she cussed me out, threatened me, and called me white trash (she was a black girl from a well off family; I'm white from a poor family -- but it's not like I'm some backwoods slob). Then, a few days later, I caught a cold, and so did she. She blamed me for giving her my cold. It's not like I sneezed on her or didn't cover my mouth when I coughed. She yelled at me for that, then as I was leaving the room, chased me out of the room with Lysol.
The final straw came when, as I went to leave one day, she actually tried to slam the door while I was still in the doorway, and caught me between the door and the doorframe.
The hall people tried to pressure me to move out, since I was the one filing a complaint, and they didn't know who to believe, but eventually she and I both moved out of the room.
Moral of the story:....sometimes roommates suck. However, I also had an AMAZING roommate one year who I became really good friends with, so I wouldn't say never get roommates. Just...try to have an escape route in case they end up being horrible people.0 -
I had a suitemate (we shared a wall) who would have screaming fits on the phone with her mother at 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning. All the time. Including during exam periods. Once, I knocked on her door at 2 in the morning to ask her to get off the phone because I had to be up early for an exam, and she yelled at me because, after all, she lives here and where is she supposed to go to speak on the phone?
Another time, she brought a dude home from a frat party, and I got to listen to the half hour deliberation on whether or not she was going to kiss him. While I was trying to fall asleep.
She was a mess, mostly because her mom was a hot mess. I felt really sorry for her, and me and the other suitemates even approached the residence staff saying we were concerned for her. But at the same time, does it really take that much thought to realize that you should only be on the phone that late in a communal living situation if it's some sort of an emergency?0 -

I even tried my sister. She fell on hard times but you know she didn't do anything not even clean one dish. She claimed she was picking up my mess but I washed every dish we used plus she tried making the rules while I paid all the bills. She didn't even offer one penny for food or bills.0 -
Oh jeez.... I had a severely OCD roommate in college, She was a little psychotic, not just OCD.
Just two choice morsels....
She would purposefully leave out a stick of gum somewhere to see if anyone would take it, and then fly into a rage if anyone did.
She insisted nobody could borrow her makeup of clothes (which, let's be honest, is the whole POINT of college), and then I found FB photos of her wearing my clothes while she was home over Thanksgiving...0
