I no longer avoid mirrors - consciously or subconsciously - and dread catching a glimpse of my (now old) bloppy self. I don't seek them out either - but I know that what I'll see if I pass a mirror now is a slimmer and improved version of me. The dread is gone!
I tried on my "fattest" jeans - the reliables that I could always fit into, even if they were sometimes rather "snug" and fitted badly. They were too big. So much too big in fact, I could pull them up and down without unbuttoning them. They were loose in the legs where before they were tight and "holding the fat in". I had to throw them out. I wasn't sorry to see them go.
My BMI has gone from 28.7 past the halfway point of overweight heading for obese to ... 25.1 hovering literally on the edge of the green "healthy weight" box. I haven't been near that in 10 years.
My 34" waist jeans that I bought at the start of the MFP adventure - and which fitted snugly around my waist and were tight in the legs- are loose. I need new ones, size 32-30 waist!!!!
I pulled on a pair of size 10 (US) Banana Republic trousers on the weekend - that NEVER fitted me - did them up without thinking and then did a double take. They fitted - nicely so!
My bras are too big - need to probably go down a cupsize.
I ran to the hairdressers and back yesterday rather than drive over - almost as a matter of course. It felt fabulous.
I can still do a lot in terms of getting fitter, but boy, are we off to a good start. Bit more weight off (5-10 kilos) and lots of toning, cardio and improving my general fitness. Not necessarily an easy thing to do, but I'm going to do it - one lb at a time, one run at a time.
After all, that's how I've gotten rid of the first 25 lbs - that and with support and encouragement from my invisible MFP friends

Well done! Please bear in mind though with the bras that you probably need to go down a couple of band sizes, rather than a couple of cup sizes. The cup sizes are determined by how proportionate you are, and you've probably stayed in proportion but just gotten smaller.
For example, a 36C bra will have exactly the same volume in the actual cup as a 32DD.
You've most probably lost fat from around your underbust as well as your actual bust, so chances are you are the same cup size but just need a smaller band size. There's an easy way you can tell - you are supposed to be able to slide 2 fingers underneath the band of your bra, but no more. If you can fit more fingers under, or pull it away from your body without undoing the clasp, then the band is too big0 -
Well done you!!! Those are all wonderful little victories!
Recently, I've been "shopping in my closet," and wearing clothes that had long since been relegated to the dark corners because they didn't fit any more. The funny thing for me has been realizing that I've missed the window to re-wear some items I used to love because they're now too big for me, when once they were far too tight. Such a great feeling - particularly when progress on the scale seems to be slow!0
