Toning excess skin

I am sure this post has been done dozens of ties but I am tired and CBA looking for them. For the last 5 years I have weighed between 105kg - 122kg. I have lost 30kgs (60 pounds) in 6 months and while I am thrilled with the success I have been having, I have discovered that my belly has that flabby floppy droop to it now. I have had 2 children so I understand the stretch marks will never fade, I quite like them actually, but is there any hope apart from a tummy tuck to help reduce the belly flap.I understand I will probably always have excess skin due to being so big for so long but this is one area I would really like to tone up even just a little bit.
Any tips for exercises that will help would be greatly appreciated

Apparently lifting heavier weights and strength training is the way to go. I'm just doing the 30 day shred but once I have done that I am going to try this stregth routine which someone posted before:

that depends on the amount of excess skin, your age (as we age our skin becomes less elastic), your diet (some vitamins and fats are beneficial to skin health and elasticity), and your individual genetics. No matter what the case, excess skin will take a while to recover, usually around 12 to 18 months for any noticeable recovery (except in rare cases). If you go that long and don't see the improvement you would like, then you may be a candidate for surgery, I would speak with your doctor, if the skin increases the chances for infection (which it sometimes does) your insurance may even cover it.
Can your skin recover? Yes, at 29 that should still be possible within reason. Will it? That depends on all the things I've listed above. As to working out to achieve it, other than enhancing your body's health (better circulation and internal systems health can help with skin health), or building large muscle to expand the area, no exercise really won't help much in this area.0 -
I have noticed that even though I only tone my arms with very light weights and yoga, over the last six months there seems to be less skin on my upper arms. - and my midsection is toning up nicely . I lost the majority of the 43 pounds I lost in the first six months of this year. I am 54 years old, btw. Not a lot of sagging and actually marked improvement in my overall skin tone in general .
I am working on eating more of the "super foods" and drinking plenty of water, as well as using lotion every time I get out of the bath. I am confident as I continue to eat better and keep up the activity I will continue to see improvement.
Even if you get to the point where surgery is the right option for you , it can't hurt to optimize all other areas for a speedy healing process, I believe.0 -
Weight training. I lost 9+ stone in a year. I've tried cardo, all the creams etc and didn't see much difference, soon as I smashed the heavy weights I started getting the results I wanted within 6-7 weeks. Try the new rules of lifting for women!0

I lost the majority of my weight by cardio only...big mistake, I need to tone up a lot. I joined a gym a couple weeks ago and started weight training, I can already see and feel the difference, I wish I would have done it months ago.0

I swim every morning - between 20 to 40 lengths - and the toning is really noticeable compared to when I've lost weight through dieting before. The extra benefit is that I feel really well and happy through exercising as well. I've also had friends who've done weight training and they've noticed the same thing. As you have children, you'll probably be limited as to what classes you can do or when you can exercise, but it's really worth trying to fit it in if you can ;o)0

weigh training, I do 40 mins cardio and 10 mins weight lifting 3 times a week. I also do sit ups / ab crunches and leg raises on the days Im not at the gym. For instance last Saturday night I did 50 ab crunches, the following morning I did another 100, trust me my abs have felt it ever since lol. It definitely works as well as losing the weight I can see myself toning up too and infact only yesterday my trainer caught me staring in awe at the shape my arms have become lol0
