Supportive friends needed!

I am fairly new to MFP. I have been heavy all my life. I have been an emotional eater all my life. And I can eat healthey for a time, and sabatauge myself every time. I have two bulging and a partial slipped disc in my lower back that is causing some serious pain. The nurves that run in my spine are being squeezed and are therefore causing me pain from my low back, to my hips, to my legs, and toes. As of right now I am basicly bed-ridden. I am looking for some very supportive friends that I can support in return. I am not just battaling the emotional weight, but also the pain that could be lessened from the weightloss. Because of my own situation I am in need of positive support, and understanding. What my theripist would call my cheerleaders. By the way my Theripist is not only the person who suggested I join, but is a sucessful member heself.
I have a long way to go.

what do you do to keep yourself entertained? If you find yourself eating due to boredom i suggest you find something to keep your mind more occupied. Reading, games.........i don't know but something you like.

Hi I joined last January but haven't done anything with it, so basically I'm new to this and want to maximize my results. I went to the doctor yesterday and was told I need to go on Metphormine b/c I'm pre-diabetic by 2pts. So it's serious. I'm 72lbs over weight and need to lose weight. I need a plan, I've got my goal to lose 72 lbs. I need guidance on what is a realistic goal to lose 72 lbs. (6 months, maybe), need help on what to eat. I've picked up a book on all you need to know about diabetes to help me gain knowledge to make life changes- food selection and amount, exercising, etc. Any tips, help would be greatly appreciated and in turn hopefully help someone down the line with the knowledge I gain. Looking for a coach, helper, friend0
