Can't stay motivated, and fall off wagon every so often.

I've been trying to lose weight for a while now. I'll start watching calories and excersising, but can't find the motivation to continue going out and excersising. I also will follow my calories for a week or two (sometimes more), but then can't stick to it for either a few days or a week or two. I am wondering if anyone has any ideas or support they can offer me. I really want to lose weight, and am even seeing a nutritionist. I've started eating a lot better, but am now having a hard time making it to the amount of calories he says I should consume a day (i'm usuall 400-1000 calories less). I've talked to him about it, but he just tells me to stick to what he wants done.

Ummm 400-1000 calories per day this nutritionist is recommending you?? I'm no expert but I read somewhere that the least amount of calories women should consume in a day is 1200 and I believe for men the amount is 1600. If you're not eating enoug calories your body won't have energy and that may be part of the reason why you don't feel motivated..you just don't have the energy.
Also, are you exercising? Because if you're not eating well AND exercising, that's not good.
If you don't consume enough calories your body will hold on to them and that will prevent you from losing weight.

For motivation you can add people from MFP as friends, that's helped me A LOT. Having people see your progress makes you accountable and you'll want to do right. The more people, the better. I find this is a very supportive, friendly and encouraging community at MFP.
