Into the lair
It is these days, when I find myself all by myself, where I struggle the most. Into the lions den I must travel in order to confront my demons, and choose weapons which will best serve me for the battle. All by myself I do not have the forces of "back-up" to ensure victory. I do have a pressing knowledge flitting across my mind saying, "You know how to conquer this moment." So I move cautiously through the mouth of the cave, feeling chills roll up my arms and I choose the weapon I need for the onslaught about to occur. This armament is delicate, almost weightless in my mind, and I question its ability to guide me through the battlezone, yet, I have a sensation building within me as the seconds tick by, and the confidence I have in it grows as well.
Suddenly I realize that I am on both ends of the battlefield. I am friend and foe to myself and I must battle every moment until I slay the bease within myself. I must approach the lions den both offensively and defensively. It will be moments that I will conquer. I know that I cannot take on an entire field of demons, but I can sqaure off with them one at a time.
I will be the victor. This time. This moment will be my greatest achievement yet. I can do this! I can win!
