Hey everyone!
My name is Markelle and I'm 23. My boyfriend gave me an iPod touch for Christmas and I was so excited to find this app. I'm a former NCAA Division I softball pitcher and I teach gym at a school for kids with emotional and behavioral issues. Before Christmas I was looking at pics of when I played ball and pics of me now and it hit me how weight I gained since I finished playing. My goal is to get back to my playing weight of 165, currently I'm at 218. Yikes!!! I'm so glad I found this app, since I religiously started using it 2 weeks ago I've lost 7 lbs! Entering the things I eat each meal is really fast and I think it's fun! Working with the type of high needs kids that are at my school can be really stressful. I made the mistake in the past of thinking I deserved something sweet everyday or seconds on dinner because of a traumatic day at school ( I say traumatic because most days we get bit, hit, punched or scratched a couple times a day by the students we teach.) Needless to say that added up pretty fast and before I knew it I was stressed out, I felt ugly because none of my clothes fit, and I felt really sad. After looking at those pics of me recently I decided to make a change. I keep my calorie intake below 1400, I excersise at least 5 times a week whether or be walking my pitbull Max, using the workout videos on comcast ondemand, workouts I've saved from fitness magazines or moving around hardcore with the kids I teach in gym. I feel a lot better already at work and about myself. I'm excited to get to know all of you and hear and share success stories along the way!
