How do I start
My wife and I just started this MFP program on Saturday, and after 3 1/2 days I've already lost 4 lbs, but when putting the meals together I find myself going from pot to pot with measuring spoons, cups and a scale, is this the way it is suppose to be ? I'm pretty good at eye balling at lot these foods, but for a more accurate portion I want to be sure. In culinary school you learn to cook by taste, cooking is not a science unlike baking, So I was wondering is this how it is suppose to be with the measuring and weighing everything ? Also while attending culinary school everything you make has to have 2 of 3 of the following, Butter, bacon, or Heavy Whipping Cream. Well since Saturday we no longer have whipping cream or butter in the fridge, what can I say I love bacon and or cooking with it. I now cook with a light vegetable oil. I now wish that I'd of paid more attention in my nutrition class.

I don't usually weigh my food, but I often measure things, especially with new recipes. I've gotten to where I'll adjust a recipe a little for my personal taste, but starting out measurements are good idea.0

For the first few months, I measured and weighed everything because I didn't know the correct amounts or sizes (portion control was a BIG issue for me). But now, 9 months later, I rarely do. Unless it is something that I haven't worked with before and can't eyeball the correct amount.0
