Although I've generally been doing great (lost over 50 lb the last 23 weeks) I have to admit to being frustrated the last couple of weeks. My weight in kg is actually higher than it was 12 days ago.

I feel like it's a bit of a stall, and I'm not sure why. My calories have averaged in the 1400 per day, which is a bit on the low side of what is recommended. Please don't suggest I'm in starvation mode - I'm far from starvation mode. :)

I get frustrated when I see the scale stuck like this.

Maybe I need more variety in what I'm eating?

My diet is Ornish/Esselstyn by the way - vegan, no added oils or nuts. I'm also doing daily exercise.

As a result my blood sugar has dropped to normal, my LDL is 70, my total cholesterol is 130, my blood pressure is 116/68 and I've lost more than 50 lb so far. All positive things to be sure.

I just want to get on with my weight loss though! I still have so much to lose I feel I shouldn't be stuck like this at this weight.

Thanks,

doug

Wow, that is very frustrating! Have you tried a one day fast but drinking the regular amount of water? I do when I get stuck.

I don't think I could go without oil -- I would rather eat those entire 1400 calories straight up organic first cold press olive oil for the day (11 tablespoons) than go without oil but of course, I'm an over the top kind of gal. No worries though.. I usually try to stick with avocados for much of my oil. LOL!

I haven't tried a fast. I suspect that I would certainly lose weight if I did that - for one day. :)

According to Dean Ornish and Caldwell Esselystyn oils are bad for the veins. At any rate, oils are high calorie. :) I don't really miss oils.

Well, I'll see how it goes by Friday, my regular weigh-in day.

    Thanks,
