Has anyone else had sinus surgery? How long did it keep you from exercising?

I myself had the procedure done this past Thursday, 10/11. I woke up to NO sense of taste or smell. That said, without my sense of taste, I am kind of turned off from food. I've lost almost 5 pounds since the procedure due to just not eating as much. I am also unable to do any kind of strenuous activity so running is out. :(

Anyone else suffer from no taste or smell after having this done? Also what are some gentle exercises I can do while I am waiting for clearance from the DR to start exercising again?

I've never had any sinus issues but maybe these links will help. The first one is official medical opinion, the second is a few crossfit people talking about their experiences. Hope it helps.

What procedure did you have done? My girlfriend had surgery to have her turbinates reduced and a septoplasty and she was down for a couple of weeks. I don't remember her saying anything about losing taste or smell though. Her sense of smell is MUCH better now though.

edit: It took 3-4 months for her to be at 90%.

I had sinus surgery in high school. I had the roto-route and polyps removed. I wasn't able to do any physical activity, ie, go to the gym, swim, bike out side, lift weights, play spots for about 8 weeks while everything healed. After about 2 weeks I was able to go for walks around the block and ride the stationary bike at home.
