Ok, since Endomondo now syncs with MFP, I did my walk using that app instead of MapMyRun. A 50 minute walk at 3.89 mph burned 469 calories. MapMyRun would normally show about a 350 calorie burn and MFP would show even less given my age, weight and gender. Which one is more accurate? I went to a couple of website and I got a range of 299 to 376 calories burned. Of course I would love it if I actually burned 469 calories in 50 minutes. Do these apps take into consideration for elevation loss/gain?

Probably no sure way to know without using an HRM. In my experience MFP reports high for most things, but the walking seems sort of close-ish. I use the old standby that 1 mile ran/walked is anywhere between 80-100 calories. For myself lately I've been using 90, so that would line up with the 350 MapMyRun gave you for a 3.89 mile walk. However, I've also seen people with HRM's report much higher burns. For me personally though, I'd rather underestimate than overestimate. Sadly I have an HRM, I've just been too lazy to hook it up and use it.
