Calorie Expenditure

Hi All... thought I might share something "interesting" with you - I have been watching my weight for just about forever, and havent got very far at all. My trainer and I spoke about how many calories my body expends in a 24 hours period (I've seen discussions about this on these forums).
I have a heart rate monitor, so from 630am Wednesday to 630am Thursday I wore my monitor.... so a normal day for me - worked at a desk job for around 9 hours, drove to and from work, work out for 45 mins at the gym, then home for a restful evening. Total number of calories my body burned in that period - 3552!!!
Very very scary that I have been keeping to a 1200 calorie or so diet for yonks now - no wonder my poor body isnt letting any of my fat go - its starving.
We're going to monitor for another 2 days to get an average (so Friday will be a non-exercise day).
Just worth some thought for those confused or curious about the number of calories your body expends.
:)

your HRM won't be accurate at low heart rates, and generally unless it's set up to match your personal fitness.
