Nauseous after eating?

Has anyone ever eaten something, and gotten super nauseous after the fact?

I had some costwold cheese earlier, and I've felt so nauseous since. I made salmon and cooked millet for dinner and haven't been able to bring myself to eat it. I've brushed my teeth/had water to try and get rid of the cheese (which I, er, keep sort of tasting/burping occasionally). If I don't end up eating today, I'll probably have netted under 500 calories (a bad idea for me).

I lifted earlier today for the first time in a week (it was super easy though; definitely didn't tax myself much), so I don't know if that contributed. But I ate the cheese a few hours after that, and it's been a few hours of being nauseous.

What do you do to get rid of nausea, especially if it's food related?

I find that after NOT eating high fat foods or dairy for a long time, when I do it goes right through me (so to speak lol). It could be that your body has built up a bit of an aversion to certain foods?

Could be a coincidence and you're actually getting sick. Has happened to my twice. Once after trying my first pomegranate I got violently ill. Ended up being a stomach bug. Next time was after making and eating angel food cake. Same thing, stomach bug. Unfortunately, I have never eaten either thing since.

Unless you're lactose intolerant, although I suspect you would already know that. One of my daughters is and she gets sick immediately after eating cheese.

I sure hope it's not a stomach bug... I just got done with a week of allergies making me feel sick (although my appetite certainly wasn't affected!). I HAVE had that experience of food aversion after an immediate sickness, so I don't know. It could be possible it's a reaction to the high fat? I had two ounces, which is maybe a little more than necessary, but I haven't had much to eat in general (not counting my dinner "projection").

Not trying to scare you but look up the symptoms of a bad gallbladder. My Mother has a bad Gallbladder and is getting it removed. She get nauseated, burps and has indigestion a lot.She has had this problem for over a year and now also vomits and has diarrhea after eating fatty or fried foods. If you do not have the symptoms of that then I would wonder if something is wrong with the cheese,an allergy or...........could you be pregnant?

I don't like any of these options.

That used to happen to me when I had an ulcer years ago. I drank a tea made of slippery elm bark and raspberry leaves (herb shop, health store) and it went away.

I would make a note in your food diary and see if it continues.

As an update, my fiance is convinced I pushed too hard at weight lifting after a week off. I didn't think I had, although I had upped weights... because I had done more reps no problem. I may not have eaten enough before or after, so later on it could have contributed to my nausea/headache? Who knows. I actually don't feel too hot today, but then the weather change dramatically!
