hey guys,
im German, but live in Ecuador. Since i use a German board from time to time, I see that there are a lot of "mean" people around.

I uploaded a few pics, one at about 73kg (my highest was 77kg) and one at 60kg (in September). I know my BMI is okay, but my bf% is at nearly 30%, and I get out of breath sooo easily, so I decided to start doing workouts (lost all the weight without diets and without sports either) to get that last bit of fat off my body and get a lot fitter.

so today i logged in and saw 2 new comments on my recent pic. Heres a translation:
1. "i would love to look like this, but i think your having an eating disorder so stop doing that"
ok, yeah i like my body too! just want to get toned, get that bf% down. BUT: eating disorder? im not a bony woman, i havent dieted for like 5 years. what the heck?
2. "you should really consider talking to a doctor, thats not healthy"
?????????????????

i dont know why people in a community that should help and support each other write this stuff?
i never said i would like to lose 20more kilos, or that i eat 200kcal a day or exercise 6hours a day... people are crazy
i told that story to a friend and she said that they may be jealous (both girls are double my weight).
when i was heavier i know what it was like seeing a girl in better shape, but hey, no reason to be nasty...

please tell me what is wrong with people! or tell me if you think im an anorexic sports addict haha

omg, here are 2 pics (same as on the German board). first one at 72kg(not my heaviest) and the other one at 60kg.

I understand where you are coming from. People have been telling me that I don't have anymore weight to lose 20 pounds ago. I need to shed another 2 pounds to be in the "normal" BMI range and my BF% is about 28% right now.

I definitely see the progress you've made. I think you look good in your second pictures and not anorexic in the least bit. If you aren't at your goal and are working towards it in a healthy way than more power to you!

I'm thinking they were just jealous cuz you don't look anorexic at all... You had a great shape when you were bigger and look even better now... I'm on the high end of normal BMI (probably look similar to you - although much more saggy skin) and have had a few people say similar things to me (in person).. And same as you -- came from overweight, unhealthy women.. You look great, you look healthy, and if you are happy w/yourself then to hell w/them!!!!!

To me you look fine. Normal, not underweight. I really don't know what those people are on about! As long,as your earing health and enough calories. Just ignore the negative comments. Well done in your weight loss :-D x

Do you have a food diary open that possibly they were seeing? That would be the only thing I can think of...that maybe their comments were more on what you were doing and not how you look because just looking at the pictures I can't think of anything to justify the comments.

Regardless, I would try and brush it off. You know what you are doing is healthy and you look incredible!!! Keep up the good work!

I think the people who were commenting on your pictures are just jealous because they're still fatty fatties and you've made significant progress! Be proud of who you are!!!

Are you sure people were not referring to your eating habits?

What is your daily kcal intake?

I second this. Unless you are throwing up food, starving yourself, exercising yourself into 0 calories eaten or similar practices you're probably pretty safe.

I get this crap all the time, particularly from people who have not had any luck losing the weight. I guess they assume that since they can't anyone who did must have "cheated" (yes one woman called it that) and starved themselves. I have shown my diary to doctors before and the response has been very positive because they like to see exactly what I'm eating to make sure I don't get sick. I respond in the following manner:

Thank you for your concerned about me, but please let me put your fears to rest. I'm keeping a log of all the food I eat and all the exercises I do to ensure that I do not eat too little. I am in contact with my primary care doctor and they know about this diary. Every time I go in for a visit they have access to the diary and they are monitoring my weight loss to ensure that I don't get into trouble.

I think some people just dont understand fitness and health. They cannot see passed their desire to lose weight and not be fat, that they don't grasp that some people value health.

I need both. I have 40 lbs to got to be at my weight goal. But my health and fitness goal will continue once I reach my goal weight!

You have done a great job, be proud!

  • I got that too. I use to belong to a Virtual Walking Club, a famous one. We would have challenges and record how many steps or what Walk Aerobic we used for the day and then try to calculate the number of steps/miles/calories burned. I joined a challenge group, one I was invited to join. I was putting in a lot of millage/steps because I was an out-of-control type II diabetic at the time. The groups would compete against each other and I wanted to do right y my group. Well I would get compliments y folks in the group for the miles I put in, then they would IM me privately to castigate me for putting in the miles.

I know it's easy for me to say "dont worry about it!" but seriously... DON"T!

You look great! and if you want to get "toned" than do it... you will look even better!

You are eating correct? You are not making yourself throw up? You are not working about 12 hours a day correct?

Sounds like you are being healthy...KEEP IT UP!

I get told that I am developing a "eating disorder" because I am eating healthy and tracking every bite I eat.... That is NOT an eating disorder... it is being conscious of what I consume and trying to make positive changes to me health.

Some people are just *kitten*...and yes, most likely jealous.

I'm guessing these people don't know what an eating disordered person looks like IRL.

    THANKS GUYS !
    THATS support,,,

its just that im so confused because i never said mean things to others. when i started to lose weight my best friend (well still my best friend haha) is/was about 40lbs overweight and i NEVER told her a single horrible thing...

the other board doesnt have a food or exercise diary, but you can open a thread and make it yours.
i dont track my food, thats way to complicated, but a while ago i did it for about 5 or 6 days, and i was eating between 1500 and 2100 calories. i dont worry at all about my intake!
i have fast food once a week or once every two weeks, i dont starve myself to death eating only salads, i eat what i want to eat,and when i want to. even if its 2 bowls of cereal at midnight, doesnt matter to me..

i exercise about 30-60mins (30DayShred and Walking/Running) 6days/week and feeling better then ever.

so I dont see anything wrong, my fiance doesnt tell me anything either..

okay im gonna take this one as a "im still fat so nobody can be in better shape" comment and hope those girls NEVER write me again.. stupid Germans HAHA

thanks again guys your really a great community, im so glad i found you 2 weeks ago :)
