Wondering if any of you MFP geniuses can help. My treadmill keeps shorting out. Once I trip the switch it turns back on. But it just stops mid workout. It is an older machine but I got it from someone who hadn't used it much. Any one else have that problem or have any suggestions?

This is only one thing, but sometimes, esp in older machines, they start to draw more power and it may be that you have too many other things sharing the same electric circuit. I know you would expect if that were the case that the breakers would just blow, but it can be more subtle than that. If the voltage is insufficient it can cause the controller boards to get a little twitchy. You can also try removing the cover and (carefully, like a computer) vacuuming out any dust around the motor and circuit boards--sometimes heat build up can cause problems as well. Worst case scenario: you need a controller board replaced, which can involve some $$.

Either run outside, run in place inside, get a new one, or join a gym. All depends on your budget I guess.
  • Thanks guys:wink:
    I'll try that Azdak!
