Body fat percentages in older women

I am 52 and the "safest" body fat % is 23 % at the lowest for me. I am almost there. 25-23.6 depending which calculator I use. My goal is 23%. I have dropped two jean and bra sizes. However, my goal was to look fit and be fit.
I obviously have more fat to lose. I barely have muscle definition. A little in my arms and back. Legs look really good. I get a lot of compliments on my legs. But I still have batwings to a degree, and def have a small spare tire under the belly button. My fat has come off from the chest down. Belly being the last. And I realize it is the last to come off.
I guess my real questions how low under 23% can I go and not feel like crap? The reason I ask is I am not happy yet with the way I look but I am almost to goal. So I pretty much figure it's going to have to be less than 23%
Any info is appreciated.

Why is 23% the safe number? I'm 55 and had mine hydro statically measured at a bit under 19%. I feel great, run at least 3 times a week and have no health issues. There's nothing wrong with getting your body fat into the athletic levels.0

There is no scientific validity behind the idea that 23% BF is a "safe" number.
The recommendations for "ideal" body fat percentages for women are significantly affected by ideology and politics.
There is a level of body fat (10%-12% for females and below) that can be associated with health problems, and there is no health reason for a female to go below 22%-24%, but if someone chooses to strive for a more athletic look in the 14%-20% BF range, there is nothing unhealthy or wrong with that.
Keep in mind, however, that body fat storage areas are genetically determined and so you may find that, however low you go, you may still have a disproportionate amount of fat in your triceps and around the abdomen.0 -
Thank you all for the info I appreciate it.
Hopefully I can get rid of a little more fluff. I would be happy with tht.0
