VLCD/PSMF

So I been reading about this diet online and havent bought Lyles book...is anyone doing it?
How do u do it? Is it possible to eat 1000calories and burn off 200 at gym and heavy lift so to make the 800calories for the day?

Sounds very low calorie diet but i've seen testimonies of people with great gain and would anyone advise whether its good or bad to do it?

    VLCDs and PSMF are widely used in obese people for a limited time. They often feature in clinical trials where 600-800 calories are fed to subjects to produce a fairly quick weight loss. You eat 600 - 800, exercise isn't especially relevant.
