I'm new. Need some friends for support.

Hello everyone. I'm new to MFP. Learning my way around. I currently weigh 189 and I am 5.6" tall. I would like to lose 50 pounds in the next 5 to 6 months. I am eating the 1600 calorie a day plan. Started with 1200 but felt it wasn't enough. I'm 3 weeks in and have only lost a pound. I have an extreme fixation with sweets. Not like I used to but it's still very much there. Looking for some tips,motivation, and some kindness to keep me going. I don't want to sound like a whineer but 1 pound doesn't seem like much. My 4 th week will be done on October 26.
