is the 30 day shred enough?

is the 30 day shred enough time to get an efficient workout I mean 28 minutes is pretty good but is it as efficient as an hour. it also seems like 20 minutes is too short

An hour can be too long. :)

Contrary to what we're often taught, a longer workout does NOT mean a better workout. If you can go ALL OUT for 20 minutes in the intervals given in the 30DS, you will burn as much, if not more, then you would with an hour long workout where you lose steam and take more breaks.

The trick is to give it everything you have. Don't hold back. Push it through!!!

It depends on what you think "efficient" means. I did nothing but 30 Day Shred for 36 days (including rest days) and found it to be very effective. I lost weight and inches and I developed a routine of exercising that I've been able to maintain. I now workout 35 to 42 minutes 6 days a week without making excuses to skip it or put it off, and sometimes I feel like I could use more of a challenge. Sure, it's not like someone who spends an hour or two at the gym every day, but I'm working on it. 30 Day Shred was the perfect starting point for me, and it's quite intense for 28 minutes. If you're going to work out for an hour but take multiple breaks for water or to catch your breath, or give minimal effort, then yes, 30 Day Shred is more efficient because you work the entire time.

It depends on your fitness levels and goals. I am burning over 300 calories when I do the shred. It's plenty for me. In fact, I like the shred specifically because it's such an intense workout in a short period of time.

How long you spend exercising is not nearly as important as the intensity that you bring to the exercise.

My sister lost her first 50lbs doing the 30 day shred haha

Run through it once normal....after that push yourself to use heavier weights, using weights during all the cardio, doing multiple levels on the same day

I always burn around 220-260 doing any of Jillian's 20-30min workouts

It depends what you are comparing it to??

The 30 DS is a 20 minute workout but it is about strength training and doing different exercises to target as many areas as possible in that space of time. If you were to just do cardio or weights you wouldn't get half as a result in the same space of time.

You don't need to kill yourself to get a great workout. 20 minutes a day of the right exercise is enough! :flowerforyou:
