Perhaps we are in agreement? Is there a more gentlemanly action than when a man walks on the sidewalk with a lady on the inside?

If I read your question right Jo... then I am going to say that it is the grandest expression of protection, that he puts himself as the first to be in harms-way should something happen on the street?

You do read me correctly. Is it a little sad that I don't see this behavior often during my walks?

Do you remember the last time you saw a man offer the crook of his arm to a woman?

Chivalry has unfortunately gone the way of the dinosaur.. it seems, at times, women want independence and children today have little or no role models for how to respectfully treat a woman. It's ONE thing I instill into my son.

But yes, I'm old skool that way. Remove coat and offer for cold/rain, etc... *shrug*

@Baguette, yes, If you're a gentleman, do you think of yourself as one?

Why should happiness be a miracle? Why can't it be an everyday expectation?

If it was everyday would it still be a miracle then?

Wouldn't you call many 'everyday' occurrences miracles? Babies being born, people finding themselves in remission, or finding the inner confidence to try again, all miracles, right?

Wait...have you never seen a Christmas movie?!
