Did you ever run up a few steps and think you deserved, like, a Big Mac?

Doesn't ice cream feel more rewarding?

Don't you always scream when you run up steps?

My strategy was always easy start, middle float, strong finish. But aren't we 2 differnet kind of runners? Just don't start off so strong that you sabatoge the rest of the race. Running with that many other runners is SO MUCH FUN!!! You are going to LOVE it! Expect the first quarter mile to be slow while everyone is starting to spread out. Try not to cut people off, but you do need to pass a bunch in the beginning, even I do that :drinker:

Thanks for that advice DVS. I am hoping that initial burst can be for a mile but I will be careful to not lose it all so quickly. I plan to use endo real time as well. Can I bottle your excitement and use some of that too?

Will you have headphones on listening to music while you run? I ask this wondering if you will also have your peptalks turned on for Endomondo during the race? Every race I run, my friends have sent me peptalks over my headphones and it's a great motivator.

Isn't that what they always say? It's a trick isn't it?

Yes indeed and the 9 am forecast is seasonably warm. Playlist is being verified and endo will be on. How will I be able to tell my mile markers without it?

So is that like 10am CST that your race is starting? Do you have your peptalks turned on? Did you know that there will also be people standing there holding mile marker signs up for you to see where you are at? This will also make you realize that Endomondo is not always exactly accurate with your milage and can be off by about a couple tenths of a mile sometimes. Can I advise you not to grab water at the water stations, you probably wont need it and it will just slow you down.
