I haven't, I used to drink slim fast a long time ago and loved it. Keep me posted on the results! Friend request coming your way :-)
Wishing you luck - how much are you aiming to drop?0 -
I personally don't care for the slim fast line. For the 200 calories you drink in a can, you can eat a chicken breast, a few servings of green vegetables and a small salad. Which one is more nutritious and fills you up longer?
If it's convenience you're looking for, there are much better quality choices, including buying a jug of protein powder and making your own. That way you know exactly what is in your protein shake.0 -
I used to follow the slim fast plan but since I discovered that there are good protein and bad ones.
I drop pounds and then hit a plateau and took the weight again.
And after that I wouldn't able to lose a single pound for months.
I don't know if it's for everyone the same but I discover that there's too much carbs in those products....
I'm now back on good food and high quality protein to fuel my muscles after my workout and before bed and have had the bettest results ever!
Hope my experience will help! xx0 -

^ Yep. Slim fast is mostly sugar. I'm not against eating sugar or carbs, but if it's quality nutrition you're looking for, go elsewhere.0 -
it didnt work for me, because i couldnt stick with it and was hungry a lot on it. what worked for me was just logging my foods and eating things in moderation0

That's what I was wondering. Had a read of a tin once and didn't get the point. In fact, it seemed like a great idea for someone wanting to fatten up.
What's the principle difference between Slimfast and Complan?0 -
it was just unnecessary torture for me. I'd rather eat food. Actually it was then that I found MFP and began counting calories instead. Glad I did too, never succeeded this much in my weight loss and fitness goals before.0

I drank them in high school and it made me gassy. Didn't realize it until I was in a rush and forgot to drink it one morning. My stomach would gurgle VERY loudly during tests and lectures lol0

A lass at work is on it, actually the same time I started with this, I've lost nearly twice as much by using a whey protein shake (from what I can tell it's cheaper, too) and making sensible eating choices (even sneaking in the odd cookie and snickers bar ;D) .
Also I view this as a lifestyle now where as slimfast comes across as a quick temporary fix- I maybe wrong having not used the product- but I do know that I'll continue to have my whey protein.

Ha. Right? The way the plan works is something like a can for breakfast and lunch, then a small dinner. Which would put most people at 1500 calories. Sounds about right, yeah?
I've never heard of Complan.0 -
I always keep Slim Fast or another protein drink in the refrigerator. Sometimes I will go several days without having one - - - - but - - - -if I am in a hurry and would be tempted not to eat anything I grab a bottle. It has worked for me - I like the taste and I know exactly how many calories to record.
I totally agree it is NOT the most healthy choice - - - but for me it has kept me from grabbing an unknown whatever on the run!!!

Both chocolate flavour.
Complan: mix the powder in with milk, each serving contains about 250 calories. Drink this if you want to get fatter.
Slimfast: mix the powder in with milk, each serving contains about 250 calories. Drink this if you want to lose weight.

I am really missing something.0 -
It does work if you can stick to it as it's basically a simple way of reducing your calorie intake. But, as others on here have said, it does have its downsides. I've tried it and found I am ravenous all the time; probably due to the high levels of sugar in it and low protein. It also gives me unbearable wind! (wouldn't be fair if I didn't warn you!). On the plus side the ready-prepared cans are convenient if you are busy or working.
By all means give it a go, but don't be disheartened if you struggle to stick with it. As others have said, a piece of chicken or some tuna with salad has the same calories, will fill you up for longer and be better for you in the long run.0 -
I like their 100 calorie snacks from the 321 plan. Other than that, I will have the drinks here and there if I'm too busy for a real meal or as a post workout drink when it's late.0

What's the principle difference between Slimfast and Complan?
Slimfast has more protein and fibre0 -

So for those two products, Slimfast is better for bulking up?0 -
When they had soy slimfast I used it to supplement my diet and also I used their old program, I don't like the 321 program they don't eat enough. A lot of that has to do with the fact that they added new ingredients and now it does nothing but make me fat, counting calories and making sure that you are getting enough veges, fruits, and legumes is so much better.0

What are you going to learn/gain after this is over to help you sustain whatever weight you lose?
I think it's an important question to ask whenever you're thinking of trying supplements or diets like this. The diet industry, whether you believe it's intentionally designed in such a way or not, is set up to allow for people to continue to fail at sustaining their weight loss so they come back and buy more of their products once they have gained the weight back. Some people keep the weight off, most really don't. Think about it. You're being told to drink shakes and eat bars. You haven't leaned anything about nutrition in general, nor have you learned to cook healthy meals or try new, healthier foods that you can start to eat and enjoy for the rest of your life. Most diet plans like this are fairly low-calorie, which is not how you are going to eat for the rest of your life, so it makes no sense to make yourself go through that now.0 -
drinking the slimfast and having the meal actually keeps me under 1200 cals. i dont like eating breakfast and drinking the slimfast holds me over for about 4 hours. i drink slimfast every morning but just now started it for lunch. and in all honesty i HATE veggies..im like a 5 year old.0

A shake here & there for a quick meal replacement is fine. But I think full programs like the Slimfast or Special K are just for people who are really uneducated about how weight loss/calories work. Who would willingly choose to drink two artificial chocolate shakes and a cereal bar, when they COULD be having something like roasted chicken with stir fry or something actually good & real & satisfying?
Educate yourself on healthy eating. Don't let yourself rely on shakes & such, you're really cheating yourself that way!
edit: I'd also like to add that the 321 plan is basically a 1200 diet. The two shakes/meal bars you're allowed total to 400, the 3 snacks total to 100, and the real meal they let you have at the end is 500. So you may as well just concoct your own 1200 calorie diet & you'd get the same results.0 -

I don't see "stupid" in her response anywhere (or even refering to you specifically). The one good thing about simply being uneducated is that you can become educated. Quit calling yourself stupid and read.0 -

Saying "If you're even the least bit educated" is on par with calling someone stupid. To each her own, why do we have to be judgmental here? coming up with and sticking to a 1200 calorie plan isn't easy for everyone. I have slim fast shakes in the morning because A) they're easy, they taste good, and C) they keep me fuller longer than the typical under 200 calorie breakfast.0 -
it's pretty sweet0
