Winter Break- family and working out

Hi guys,

I'm anxious about visiting family for winter break. They live overseas and don't have any gyms near by. Its also a country where i couldn't easily run outside being a female. People do it, but i wouldn't feel comfortable because i'm from there and I know its not the norm, and yeah. Its hard enough for me to work out here (i'm in NY), where all i have to do is go to the gym, and sometimes i work out at home. But there's no way I will be motivated enough to work out there (with family) with no cardio machines/group classes.

One the one hand, I miss my family, i only see them twice a year (winter and then summer break) and I want to spend time with them.
On the other hand, I'm anxious about my habits slipping, my motivation lacking, and hence my depression regarding weight and stuff increasing. Also, i have a cat and 2 dogs in NY, and I don't know what to do with them. I don't know anyone who can watch them (i'm kind of a loner, and my family lives overseas), and boarding is so expensive.

I'm wondering if a. I should go (which i feel i really should) and b. how long should i go for (maybe 2 weeks?)

Does anyone have any tips, advice, comments, criticisms-- I don't know. I'm open for anything.

Thanks!
