I hate looking in the mirror. Makes me sick.

I got very emotionally off track last month. This week i started paleo and back at gym and getting my crap back together.
I feel good. I am working out and feeling really healthy. I am eating healthy and not snacking on bad things, and I feel in control. Then I look in the mirror and I see something that isn't possible. I feel like i look heavier than ever, in everything I put on. I don't weigh any different. I haven't weight myself, because i want to get back into it for a few weeks before weighing myself, but i certainly haven't gained, but every time i look in the mirror i feel sick.
Is this all mental?
I know i am eating healthy and being healthy, so why the negative mental thoughts?
I guess i really want to make some impact by the holidays and I feel like it won't happen and i will be disappointed.
Anyway. Just looking for some support i guess.
Thanks.

Yes, it definitely sounds mental. If your clothes are fitting the same and you are making good choices you are ok. If you keep telling yourself you are going to fail that is exactly what you are going to do. At this point I wouldn't even worry about the holidays. All you need to worry about is today. Make the best food choices to fuel your body. Get your body moving and enjoy your life. Then tomorrow do the same thing. If you do that you will be successful. I believe the power of life and death is in the tongue and that includes what we say to ourselves. Speak life and blessings over yourself!0

I would have to assume that negative mental thoughts are, well, mental. I am not sure what happened, and don't need the details but hopefully you regain your confidence. Retrace your tracks, and see where you fell off the wagon. I am sure you will recover quickly.0

I feel the same way. I gain even .2 pounds and I look in the mirror and see it as more! Its something Ive realized is totally mental and that my body is feeling good so I shouldnt get so wrapped up in it.0

I actually had this happen to me today....i'm in the middle of some very stressful times and i know that I haven't been eating properly (read as not eating anywhere near enough) so you would think the scale would go down.....right?
well I got up this morning and I looked in the mirror and I swear to god I saw a person who had put on every last damn pound...i saw myself 132 pounds ago, staring back at me...and I almost got sick....i definitely got very emotional and lost all ability to even attempt a rational thought...
but some of the best people in the world (on MFP here) shook some sense into me...
half of this game is mental...and it's almost the meanest trick we have in the book...
chin up...get at it...and don't trust your mind and the mirror together...they can be deadly.0
