I am lifting 2-3 days a week and want to start taking protien powder right afterwards to help with muscle repair. What is the difference between casien, isolate and whey? Which would be the best for post lifting? TIA!

Post workout it's best to use an isolate as it absorbs really fast. I also love a small bedtime treat of casein as it makes me full all night and enough in morning to get moving. My wife loves the casein in the morning on the road to work. Sometimes we mix in with some berries. Never was a sucker for supplement s but protein post exercise has dramatically decreased my sore time and recovery is fast. For what it's forth I love optimum nutrion hydro isolate. Mixes awesome and taste is unmatched In my opinion. Good luck.0

From the best of my knowledge
Casein has a slow absorption process which last a couple of hours so it is best for taking before bed
Isolate is the whey broken down so that your body absorbs it much quicker
Whey is pretty much the standard all the others are based on
For best results you can mix an Isolate or Whey with Casein. That will give you the quick dose of protein to your muscles combined with a slow dose that will feed your muscles over the next couple of hours. If you just want to use just one either the whey or isolate would be fine.
This is just my knowledge and suggestion so if anyone find anything wrong feel free to correct me.0
