Somewhat graphic question for the heavy squatters

I apologize in advance for the following question. I trust most of the responses will be mature, but I also have a sense of humor
Last night I discovered blood in the bowl after a bowel movement. As you can imagine, this was disconcerting. Before I go any further, yes I am going to see the doctor this morning. I believe this issue is related to an intense session of heavy (for me at least) freeweight squats the previous day. I think I might have ruptured a blood vessel. I did some internet searching and discovered this happens on occasion.
As stated, I'll see the doctor who will likely order a few unpleasant tests to rule out other causes and confirm my suspicion. My questions for those that squat heavy are:
- Do you have any first or second hand experience with this issue?
-If so, did you (or your friend ) have to lay off the squats, reduce bar weight/sets/etc.?
-Do you have any other advice?
I worry my doc will give the expected "stop doing squats" advice. If it matters I'll turn 43 this Saturday and have no history with similar issues.
I am currently squatting 1.25 x body weight and was working my way toward heavier weight. The workout in question was somewhat higher volume (8 working sets in the 6-8 rep range with a warmup set and a higher rep/lighter weight finishing set).

This possibility came up during my web browsing. While I have no prior history, I read heavy squatting can cause hemorrhoids (which are just swollen blood vessels). However, because there is no irritation, if that is the issue, it is likely internal vice external. The creme, as I understand it, is for external only. And yes...'twas bright red. More than just spotting but less than crime scene.0

I had a similar issue once. I narrowed my stance. I found that puts less pressure in that region, but limits my progress to a degree. I never saw a doctor for it, but I haven't had a reoccurrance in nearly 8 months. Wait and see what your doctor says, it my be nothing.0

this.
I've dealt with it before, but never stopped squatting heavy.
For the most part, I've found that it's diet related. Supplement with some fiber every day (liberally) until the problem stops.0 -
Red isn't neccisarily a bad thing. IT's 'further down the pipe.
Now black blood... that's an issue0 -
I don't necessarily consider myself a heavy squatter but I've had this happen before. Except it wasn't anything caused by weights or whatnot, it was the onset of ulcerative colitis.0
