Hi everyone,
Just wondering about this Diet. A girl at work is doing it and she looks great! I looked over her food and she is eating pretty much the same as I am. 2 Proteins a day, 2 Veggies, 2 Fruit, 2 Bread and a little bit of dairy. She just has smaller portions than me.
I have heard good and really bad things about this diet. I know it costs alot but when she said she was feeling ill or worried about her hair etc the doctor worked with her to take more pills and figure everything out to the tee.
Any suggestions???
Thanks

Generally most diets are too low calorie and in the long run are worse for you. Too low calorie and you increas the chances of muscle loss. Muscle is what makes you have a lean and tight body. And as I always say, weight loss makes you look good in clothes but fat loss makes you look good naked.
Do this and you will beat her. Eat a moderate deficit 20% below TDEE, exercise 6 days a week, 3 days of that should be heavy weight training, 2 should be HIIT and one yoga/pilates. This way you strengthen your muscles and will work on fat loss.0 -
I had a SIL on that diet, while she did attain her goal, she was melted and grey, looking way older than she was,not healthy. It was a 800 calorie and no exercise diet with vitamin shots.0

I had friend do this twice yes she lost it but then gained it back plus a lot more... Do it the right way and it will last0

I know 2 people that did it. They both spent TONS of money and they both gained it all back. One of them is now on MFP and doing great. In the early days of her being on MFP, she was frustrated because she didn't think it was happening fast enough and she told me she was thinking of going back on "Dr. Bernstein". I threatened her.....she didn't :laugh:0

Is this Dr. Bernstein the diabetic doc? Are you diabetic or just looking for an easy way to lose weight?
If it's the same guy I'm thinking about, I don't know how it could cost a lot of money. It's basically an extreme low carb diet. It's great for diabetics who want perfect control over their blood sugar. Personally, I would rather eat "clean" foods and not be so ridged in my diet. His life story is pretty incredible, though, and he has some very good information regarding diabetes.
As far as just doing it to lose weight, it's like any other "diet". You can't starve yourself for 3 months then go back to eating the way you did before, regardless of what your macros are. Long term consistency will always win in the end. So do something you can stick with for life.0 -

If it has a name, someone is selling you something. And 'profits over peope' is the name of the game in that respect.0 -
I've never even been in the same room as him. Why? What have you heard?0

I like food too much and hate hunger enough that this wouldn't be something I could do. I think focusing on eating cleaner foods and staying consistent is a better plan than some crash diet. I am also someone who prefers to take less pills not more.0

If you like to starve, be too weak to exercise and, have to find energy from vitamin B injections, and enjoy being bullied and badgered on a weekly basis for not losing fast enough or using body lotion, go ahead and spend lots of money...Just put some aside for when you end up in hospital (like my friend) with kidney issues.....0
