How do you divide up your day?

I just noticed my breakfast was low in protein today and it got me wondering should I attempt to divide it among the day (My daily goal is 67grams of protein and having only 4 or 5 grams for my first meal isn't great if I should evenly spread the amount throughout the day. On the same token I went over my protein allowance the other day.

How did you learn to divide your protein/carbs/cals etc? I just want to eat to feel energetic and sustained throughout my day.

Are you using the MFP default for protein? It's set really low, you might want to adjust that. I wouldn't worry about going over your protein unless you're also doing severe low-fat or are eating like 300g/day.

Because I'm a vegetarian, I really have to focus on hitting my macros pretty closely in every meal - once carbs get ahead, there aren't really any good ways for me to catch up on protein and it screws up the whole day. If you want to spread it out, it's just paying attention - log as you eat, and adjust right then rather than waiting for the next meal. I also make sure to have a few go-to snacks that are high protein in case something gets out of balance.

That said, you don't *have* to spread it out - if you're feeling full and satisfied then stick with what you're doing. There's some stuff about "oh, you can only absorb x grams of protein in one sitting" but that's if you're drinking something like pure whey isolate - your body will adjust your digestion to get all the nutrients out if you're eating normal food. Personally, I've found that carby breakfasts make me want to eat everything in sight for the rest of the day and protein-y ones are much more satisfying, but apparently that's not true for everyone.

I still haven't learned how to properly divide everything. All I know is that you should eat more protein at morning. I would like to hear what everyone else has to say, though.
