So I've been having a bunch of medical issues (not weight related) that "regular" doctors only want to treat with pain killers, which I refuse to take because that doesn't fix the problem (or even figure out what it is). I was looking into going to a naturopathic doctor by my work that the pharmacists at my work think are great doctors to figure out what's wrong and not just have pain meds thrown at me. However, while I was looking at their website, I see they prescribe HCG injections (which I actually make at work). I think HCG is total BS and would never even think of that as a realistic weight loss solution and think the people that do haven't thought about it enough (pregnant woman pee and 500 calories/day-- seriously?!?). I don't know how I feel about going to a doctor that actually prescribes that to their patients. I wonder if they prescribe that, what other BS products do they prescribe?? What kind of "treatments" are they going to give me?? The main reason I want to go there is because they actually take time to get to know their patients and take their time with them as opposed to rush in,see dr for 5 minutes, rush out.
So basically what is all of your opinions? Would you go to a doctor knowing they believe in HCG? Should I make an appointment and ask if they actually belive in HCG or just prescribe it because of patient demand? I'm so conflicted. Finding a good doctor shouldn't be this hard!

Is it HCG for weight loss or for fertility? HCG is an approved treatment for infertility in women.
If it's for weight loss, I'd find another doctor.0 -

I belive it is for weight loss. I know that with the prescriptions that I fill at work, the dosages are for weight loss. I just hate that doctors actually think think HCG is a realistic solution and are willing to prescribe it.0 -

I wouldn't go to a "naturopathic" doctor at all. I have lupus and trust me, I understand the frustration with medical professionals. But in the end I will trust my well-bring to doctors who believe in science-based medicine.
Good luck; I hope you find a great doctor who will figure out what is wrong.0
