So, I've been faithfully logging my food and exercise daily for a month now. From day 1, I need to lose 30 lbs to get out of the obese BMI range and into the normal weight range. I know BMI is not end all, be all. I may decide to stop at 25 lbs as that was the weight were I felt the most comfortable as an adult. Anyway, that's not what this post is about.

This is about baby steps and success. I know the scale has been dropping in small increments. I've lost about 5 lbs this past month. After reading a discussion on body fat, I decided to go ahead and take new measurements. I was not expecting much change at all. To my surprise, I lost 1.5 inches from my neck, 1.75 inches from my waist and 2 inches from my hips! That's an entire pant size I believe!

I now wish I had taken before photos.

Just wanted to celebrate with people who understand! I live with a marathon runner (my husband) who runs about 10 miles most days (more when he trains) and an aspiring ballet (my daughter) who trains 3-8 hrs a day. They are both extremely fit and have higher calorie requirements than I do! I had to stop eating like they do and eat the portions that work for me.
