Not DVDs but I purchased the Ultimate Sandbag kit for approx. $100. It comes with a DVD featuring 6 different workouts you can do with it as well as a poster that guides you through 3 basic workouts depending on fitness level. I've been doing great so far going through the workouts on the poster. They're better than any DVD I've tried and safer I think.

I am just finishing up TurboJam and starting TurboFire on Monday. I also have used Walk Away the Pounds, and I have ChaLean Extreme on the way.

I did Jillian Michaels 30 day shred faithfully with no noticeable changes.
    Probably won't do it again.
I've been doing Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds every morning for 30 min. to 1 hour. Great way to
    start the day. I have many and the moves are pretty much the same, but my favourite is 'Walk Slim, 5 really big miles';
some with stretch band, some with boosts and each mile burns 100 calories. I like this variety.

Each mile won't necessarily burn 100 calories, I can do the whole 5 miles with a HRM and not even get 200 burn. Calorie burn is based on your age, weight and HR so your mileage will vary.

I've also done Jillian Michaels assorted dvds and Billy Blanks' taebo and boot camp. I also take advantage of the free workouts available via the on-demand feature on my cable service. It's a great way to "demo" new workouts and instructors. But by far my favorite is the website bodyrockers.tv very intense but short workouts, perfect for ppl like you and me with limited amounts of "free" time. Make sure you're ok with the basic moves before trying some of these videos. It's side burpees and side pushups instead of classic burpees, lunges in three directions with a sandbag....the other caveat is the instructors sometimes look like softcore porn stars. Some of us can deal with that, some of us can't.

In my experience most pieces of affordable home workout gear, from higher quality resistance band kits to medicine balls to sandbags or kettlebells or whatever often come with instructional DVDs or posters illustrating workouts you can do with them. And in my experience these workouts are often better than what you find on JM or Beachbody videos.

Check out You Tube. Free exercise videos. Anything from walking, to dancing, and all the other videos. All free. Try "Core Rythms Full Workout". Once you bring up one, they will have more to look at.

Hi, I've been working out with dvds every day since 2004. Right now I'm doing a barre/ballet rotation with yoga. And for cardio I've been using Wii Walk it Out. For the next couple of weeks I'm alternating Pop Physique (found on Amazon) with Eoin Finn's Pursuit of Happy Hips yoga. Collagevideo is good for finding dvds as well as Totalfitnessdvds. Both have great preview clips. For a site that's all about home workouts check out Videofitness. Tons of reviews and great advice about dvds. I've noticed a lot of people love Jillian's Shred here and I've never clicked with it but there are tons of workouts out there to choose from.

I'm on 30 day shred by jillian michalels now, but I'll be done soon. I'm going to start Bob harpers dvds' inside out method. it looks INTENSE and I suspect it's even harder than any jillian michaels dvd which is what i''m excited... AND terrfied for.

edit to add there is a $5 special on his website if you're interested.

    Thanks for the reply.

Bob Harper is awesome. I tried the Beginner Transformation DVD and I almost fainted. It was great, NOT beginner level. So I can imagine how good the others will be.

Thanks for all the helpful replies.

I would like to buy Cathe DVDs, but they are so expensive. Are they worth it?

Which some of the all time favorites?

Right now I am doing Supreme 90 days. Love the work outs and it is a different work out every day. Got mine off Amazon for $15 and I see that Big Lots sell theirs for $4.

I typically do 2 (20 min.) circuit training dvds on one day, then a cardio video the other day. Right now I am doing the 30 day shred, and a denise austin boot camp video. Then on the other day I'll do 30DS and run. I am going to get Jillian's cardio video soon as well as Ripped in 30.

I have gotten amazing results from the 30 Day Shred...I'm almost done, and can't wait to compare my measurements. I have lost 4lbs already. (I'm doing it every day for 30 days)

I do not have a routine, I just alternate DVDs in function of my time, energy, needs. In time I have found that doing the right exercise at the right moment it's the best.

When I have less time to workout and I stressed and tired I preffer my Pillates DVDs (I have general workout, for arms, abs, legs) or light aerobics.

For when I really want to work I have Jillian Michaels and Bigest Losers DVDs or tae-bo.

I also have some `unknown` DVDs which dancing aerobics and other stuff.

Some of the best ever affordable videos, in my opinion, are Jillian Michaels anything (I've done/loved 30 Day Shred, Ripped in 30, Yoga Meltdown, No More Trouble Zones, Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism). Also Bob Harper Inside Out Method DVDs. Not sure about price for Billy Blanks Tae Bo but those were some of the first ever videos I did and which got me into working out in the first place when I was a teenager. I still enjoy me.

Otherwise, I love a lot of Beachbody videos but those are soo expensive. Borrow from friends or library or renting or stuff like that are best for those dvds unless you truly want to follow the whole program and such. Which I never do because I get bored of the same instructor after a while....

I have ALOT of workout videos to be honest and I usually just rotate them however I feel. I have dance ones, tae bo, dance/kickboxing, circuit training, yoga, pilates...A lot of different things.

I also have a few channels on Youtube that have great workouts.

The 30 Day Shred is the only exercise video I have for this length of time (I'm on my 16th day now) and it is getting the job done. I'm shredding.
