So i've been thinking of doing fitness and figure competing, and I have no clue on how to start or begin and how to properly train. Ive looked for figure trainers in my area and their 2 hours away or further. If any ladies out there would be so kind on advice and guidance towards my goal I would really appriciate it!

Also, I'm a subscriber to "oxygen" magazine - you might want to check that out (they also have an online version).

    Good luck to you!

(I've thought about having "enter a competition" as a goal, but, in truth, I don't think I could handle the "fake tan" look and I'm kind of terrified of the dehydration fast at the end!)

That's an excellent post. One I wish I had read before I started.
I would spend some time around that forum too. There would be way more people to give you specific advice.
Do lots of reading on it. Talk to people if you can who have done it if you can. Start talking to trainers and find one that has similar ideals to yours.. My trainer is a friend, and a great person, but I don't totally agree with all her methods. If I compete again I would ideally like to have found someone different although that is a little complicated. A lot of people deal with trainers long distance, however, it is nice to be able to see the trainer in person. Mine never worked out with me but was at the same gym so I could ask questions about the program and especially, about form

    Good luck!

Ha, the fake tan was gross. Especially because I couldn't wear a bra or deodorant after I got it (note - if you do book the spray tan, make a late appointment that way you spend less of the day with the sticky tan and no bra) But the shower after the show was probably one of the best I ever had. Felt so good to wash it all off. And the faded tan was actually nice.

The dehydration part is one of those things that comes down to your trainer. Some trainers don't recommend it, or not drastic dehydration, other will encourage the use of diuretics.
