I don't understand 1200

So you're supposed to kinda try keep under your calorie goal, or at least not go over it, but then we mustn't go over our calorie goal... I don't understand this!

What to do on days when you're not exercising? Should we go over or under?

Also, I have swollen glands. Until I get it sorted out (possible mumps, but unlikely), do you have any advice for this in the way of food and exercising (or not exercising?)
Could I be getting sick (I've been sick for about 2 solid months now...) because I'm not getting enough of the right food?

you arent supposed to eat under your goal. your goal is just that, what your target it. since its already set at a minimum it's unnecessary to try and eat under it

second you should be eating back your exercise calories if you're following the MFP way. so on days when you dont exercise you eat you goal calories

also swollen glands is usually a sign of some sort of infection. you should see a doctor if you're worried about that

if you are on a 1200 diet you should eat back your exercise calories.

it is quite difficult to get the nutrition your body needs on 1200cals, especially if 1200 is too low for you. MFP may have set your goal too low for you.

do you know your BMR / TDEE? that is key to getting a healthy deficit diet.
