Finished C25K- still hate running!?

When I started C25K I hated running. It was something I wanted to conquer though, and I did. YAY! I love what running has done for my body, but I still hate it! I dread each run, and still haven't found the enjoyment in it most people seem to. I have been looking for other cardio workouts that I would enjoy more, but has anyone else been in this same situation? I just feel like most people that hated running in the beginning all seem to fall madly in love by the end.

Do yourself a favor and try callanetics... absolutely amazing and life-changing. It's a deep muscle workout that will tighten you up faster than any amount of running. I'm a runner and know how you feel!

Personally, I love running- I love the freedom it gives me- honestly, I could gush about how I love it for a while however, that's not quite the point! If you don't like a certain exercise, then just don't do it. I'm not overly keen on biking myself, I tried it again with the other half but I'm just downright dangerous when riding on the roads so I decided to give that one a skip for now.

MFP is a lifestyle change, not a diet. You should be forming habits now that will live with you for the rest of your days, and forcing yourself to do an exercise you flat out don't enjoy shouldn't be on your tick list. Cardio encompasses everything from dancing, swimming, zumba, bike riding, roller blading, trampolining and more: you don't HAVE to run. I'd go and find something you really enjoy and forget the running if I were you! :)

However if you really want to make the running work, I'd try mixing it up- go outside, try a new route, try some speed (fartlek/HIIT) sessions, vary up your distances etc.

Firstly well done on your achievement, I agree with mrspixelbark though, there are loads of exercises you could try until you find the one you love. For me it was running but if you hate it don't feel bad its not for everyone. My hated exercise is kettlebells classes and bootcamp style classes; being shouted at to work til I puke? urgh horrendous! But I know others who love them. Try out lots of different classes until you find the ones you look forward too. Good luck xx
