I'm 90+ days into my journey and, by the scale, I have now lost 10% of my body weight. Woohoo! Still a long way to go, but I'm on my way!

Of course, when I found this out, I wanted to see what other milestones I could aim for. Well, that was a mistake. I've been trying to keep my eyes focused on just each day at a time, with short mini-goals. I confess, when I started seeing how really far I have to go, I was getting a bit depressed. To get out of the obese weight range. Yikes! I have to lose 80 pounds before I'm considered just overweight. Well, at least I only have to lose about 25 more pounds to stop being considered severely obese.

Charts, charts, charts. How depressing! I guess I'll go drown my sorrows in carrots sticks.

Look at how far you've come and not how far you have to go! Celebrate success! Showing up is half the battle, keep at it, this really works. So much easier that writing down things in a tracker and researching every calorie or point. :flowerforyou:

Congratulations on your success! You've done a great thing for yourself, your health, your well being. Woohoo!!!!

I agree - short term goals are more motivating to me than looking too far ahead. If that's true for you too, then just don't look too far ahead! Stick with those near term goals. Look for the next 10 lbs. Look for a new outfit that you want to fit in that is one size smaller than current. Etc. Slow and steady wins the race!

    Good luck!

Hurrah. 10% is a health changing loss. Maybe thinking of the journey in 10% steps is helpful, and as you go down then each 10% is not as many lbs to lose. So at 290lbs then 10% is 29 lbs but at 268 lbs it is just under 27 lbs and at 200 would be 20 lbs. Helps me anyway! From 184 I have to drop 18 lbs, so not quite there yet but plodding on and taking each day as it comes.

I feel the same way about the rest of the weight I need to lose but look at your progress so far! Each pound is an achievement!
