Overcoming "mommy" guilt?

During the week I pick up my son from the babysitter's at 4:30, and bedtime is 7:30. Those three hours are sacred, so I work out at 5:30 a.m. to avoid mom guilt. Weekends we do yoga, hike, or run trails together.0

I feel the guilt. Most days of the week, I have 2 hours in the a.m. and 3 hours in the p.m. to see my 6 year old daughter, so to give up even one of those 5 hours is a lot, but still there are usually two days of the week when my workout time has to happen after work. Usually though, I try to get up and workout in the wee hours of the morning.
Although she thinks it's rather pathetic when I come home with an 8th or 9th place ribbon for my age group (she's a little competitive), I think it was good for her to see me cross the finish line of my first marathon 2 weeks ago. I think she understands, at some level, the inherent rewards of my discipline and effort. So maybe, even if I am absent those two nights a week, I am still parenting?
It's not easy. But it's all important.0
