I was thinking of knitting/crocheting and making "designer" xmas stockings for this holiday season. How many people would actually buy something like that? just trying to gauge a market and if its worth my time,
any other ideas or inputs would be great.. I also love baking so maybe making holiday "treat trays" for parties, etc...
trying to make some extra cash!
thanks

I totally would be interested in designer Christmas stockings to fill with goodies and mail off to relatives and friends several states away. That's a great idea. Please keep me posted on what you offer.0 -
i usually make crocheted things for my friends and family for presents, but to sell i found that the cost of good yarn makes it hard to make a profit once the project is done. i found that while trying not to overprice things, i wasn't making any money in the long run. but you might have better luck than me!0

I still have the CHristmas stocking my aunt knitted for me when I was 3. I'm 36 now....and NO ONE gets to use my stocking but me and me son. Does that tell you how good your idea is. I do question though if you have enough time to make a supply of them by this CHristmas. It seems like a lot of work in a short amount of time.0

I made some sweater stockings one year. Nerdy, I know. I skipped the whole knitting thing (well, because I don't know how) and just bought some inexpensive sweaters, made a pattern and lined with fleece. Pretty stinkin' cute if you ask me0

If you knit using Fair Isle to mix colors, please put a liner in the stocking. It's a pain in the butt to get thing in and out of them otherwise. And yes, I'm a male knitter.0
