Feet pain, NORMAL?

Hey everyone, this is my first serious thread.
Well, I've been running for 2 days for like 10 minutes *My feet didn't hurt that time*.
Then I decided to walk an hour a day for building stamina and running faster after like a week.
First day my foot hurt slightly, Second day my feet hurt much more than before.
Is this normal?

I can't walk on it anymore I don't how to exercise.
  • Can be the shoes you use: running and walking shoes should support the feet differently and it may be that if you want to get serious about running that you get some fitted (walk on one of those machines that lazer image the feet to tell you what kind of shoe you need). I often get instep pain if I'm wearing poorly-fitted shoes and that's because I have flat feet that roll inwards. Good luck
  • If you are having feet trouble, use some swimming to get off your feet for a while without doing no exercise. Good for if you have joint (ankle, knee, hip) problems.

foot pain is not "normal". Make sure you have good shoes. Might need to see a podiatrist. The better shoe store now have the computers to evaluate your foot and then get shoes that fit the problems you have.
  • I am a runner and besides staying hydrated, the shoes are the most important! If you are serious about running, check out a running store and they can help get you a shoe that is geared towards your arch, etc. Some will even let you run with them outside to test them out. You should not be having foot pain. Like another poster suggested, stay off of it with other exercises such as swimming until your foot is feeling better.

A common heel pain is Plantar fasciitis. If you are having heel pain google it.

Stretching and warm up are important when walking or running.
