I ran a race called The Bisbee 1000 Great Stair Climb today!! Such a cool and unique race. It's up and down the hills in the historic district of an old mining town here in AZ, and the route includes 9 killer staircases! Not one-flight-of-stairs type staircases either, and despite the name, I've heard it actually has some thing like 1300 or 1400 stairs. It sure felt like it, but it was awesome!! :) And tough as hell, holy cow!

Okay, I'm going to be obnoxious and post my stats, cause I'm really happy. Thanks for indulging me if you've read this far. :D 6 out of 275 in women my age group (40 to 49), and 33 for women overall out 1100. Yay for running over the summer this year! And for being just into my age group this year, that doesn't hurt either, haha!

Anyone else done this run or anything like it? Or planning to travel to southern Arizona next year based on my enthusiastic description? :)

Congratulations! I used to live in Sierra Vista, so I know all about the Bisbee stairs. Sadly, I wasn't in shape while I was living there so I've never done it. It's certainly quite an accomplishment. Nice results too!
