Too much protein?

Hi guys,
I'm pretty new to all of this, just started earlier this week. My boyfriend, his parents, and I all decided to work together for a healthier us.
I've been doing pretty well so far and I am amazed at how much my tastes and eating habits have changed so quickly! I just have one thing that is bother me. According to my little profile here I am supposed to take in 50 grams of protein a day. However, I've been constantly over. Today I was over by 20 grams!
What are the consequences of this? I'm just curious, because in the KREB cycle aren't proteins burned last? So eating more protein shouldn't really hurt my fat burning, should it?

I've heard lots of people say that MFP underestimates protein especially if you are working out/weight lifting. I recently had an assessment at my gym and the trainer said I should go for at least 100g of protein a day. I've also read articles that say go for at least 1g of protein per pound of lean body mass. All that said you may not be going over in reality.0

My protein is always much higher than what MFP recommends and my carbs are always much lower. It works for me. Don't worry too much about it.0

i don't think its possible to have too much protein, especially if you are working out (your muscles need extra protein to repair themselves). protein also helps with satiety (fiber helps with this too). don't worry about being over as long as you're getting a fair amount of veggies in you!0

50 grams of protein is kind of low. I try to eat around 140 grams a day.0

Thanks guys! Now I can eat my nightly yogurt on a clear conscience!0
