Hey guys,

I purchased the book on my Kindle, and have read through it, but there is no way that I will remember how to do every exercise. I am getting a new gym membership today, but I am not entirely sure what they have yet. It is also unlikely that any of the PTs or helpers at the gym speak any english (I'm in China). My questions are:

Do/did you bring your book to the gym? Or do you look at the exercises prescribed that day and make sure that you understand them before you go?

Did you have to modify any of the exercises for lack of equipment at your gym? On the tour I did not see a medicine ball or a step up box.

Did you make your own spreadsheets or use theirs? I won't be able to print anything until tomorrow, so today, I think am just going to explore instead of starting.

Any other advice would be appreciated!

I took the book to the gym with me for the first couple times. Still take my log with me. I printed one out but see no reason why you could not make your own.

I'm halfway through stage 1 and though I'm familiar with the exercises now, I did bring my book with me for the first few workouts to make sure I was executing everything properly. I also made sure to watch videos on youtube or bodybuilding.com beforehand to see exactly what proper form looked like in action. I also used the spreadsheet that was outlined in the book - you can print blank copies off the website.

My gym had all the equipment required so I didn't have to modify anything, but I know some people have said they do planks instead of prone jackknifes and regular crunches instead of ball crunches because there are no exercise balls at their gym. As for the step, many people use a weight bench as a step which is probably more beneficial than the step I use at the gym because it is higher and engages more muscles in your legs.
