SMART goal?

I've been doing some reading about setting goals and have a question for anybody with some experience... Previously my goals were for weight loss. However, since I've actually been sticking to a workout routine for the 1st time in my life, I'm not losing so much, just toning... I have taken my initial measurements and am just wondering what I can expect as far as inches lost? I want to set a goal, to have something to work for (and to reward myself when I get there) but don't know what kind of goal is attainable?
If you've previously lost inches, how long did it take for you to say lose 2 inches off your waist, or lose a pants size?...
