Net calories under weekly goal...

Hello all,

At the time of writing this my weekly stats show I have '5178 net calories under weekly goal' for the remainder of the week. My daily calorie target is 1940. To me, the word 'under' means a good thing but from searching the internet I've seen a lot of people saying that net calories have to be in the minuses in order for it to be a good thing which is causing me confusion and a bit of stress I could do without :) so I'm looking for somebody to explain to me whether it has to be in the minuses in order for it to be good and it causes weightloss as I'm rather confused.

Cheers

You daily net should be 1940. Not a negative number. A negative number would mean you're expecting your body to perform with zero nutrition - like trying to drive a car without gas, it isn't a good thing.

MFP bases daily net calories off of calories eaten minus exercise calories. What you're reading other places online is your how far under your TDEE you are.
